Hole in one for Advance at their charity golf day

Bacon rolls and coffee got the participants ready for the Advance Charity Annual Golf Day at Kedleston Park Golf Club on Thursday 8 September. In aid of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the day raised a fantastic £1,500 and despite a few golf balls ending up in the bunker an enjoyable day was had by all.

There were many winners on the day including Lincoln Deacon who got the closest to the pin on the 7th hole and was awarded a set of golf balls and Karl Lord who got the longest drive on the 12th hole and was awarded a golf bag.

The raffle prizes included an umbrella and signed personalised cap donated by Mel Reid, an up and coming professional golfer from Derbyshire who recently won her third Ladies European Tour victory at the Open de España Femenino, and a day of golf for two at Kedleston Park Golf Club.

Congratulations to Darren Hicks from Design Brook who was the overall winner and we won’t name and shame the winner of the booby prize who was awarded Advance branded golf balls to get practising with! The prize giving was held over a much deserved and very pleasant two-course meal.

It is fantastic to see so much money raised for such a good cause. I would like to thank everyone for taking the time out of their day jobs to help support the charity. I have received fantastic feedback from those who attended and I am already looking forward to next year’s day.”
Simon Deacon, Director, Advance

It was a fantastic day, a really good venue and a great cause.”
