Advance had great success exhibiting at LuxLive 2011 on Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 November 2011 at Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London. This ambitious event, the first of its kind, was visited by 3,800 people and all seemed impressed by the quality of the event. Plans are already in place for LuxLive 2012.

Advance’s stand took an energy efficiency theme and certainly attracted a great deal of interest. Advance showcased many of its innovative lighting solutions and unveiled its brand new energy efficient LED product range, ARA 3. These high output LED light bars are around 40% more energy efficient than alternative fluorescent tubes, helping customers meet their carbon footprint targets. The light bars can be used for a variety of purposes, from ambient and refrigerated shelf lighting to coffers and canopies, and can be tailored to suit customers’ requirements.

The Advance team handed out a number of giveaways including light up bouncy balls and torches in 100% recyclable, stylish canvas bags. The lucky winners of Advance’s energy efficiency competition also took home a bottle of champagne!

LuxLive 2011 was a great success for Advance as well as being a very successful event overall. Despite being relatively small compared to events we have exhibited at in the past, it was of a very high quality. I will look forward to seeing what LuxLive has to offer next year.”

There were many winners on the day including Lincoln Deacon who got the closest to the pin on the 7th hole and was awarded a set of golf balls and Karl Lord who got the longest drive on the 12th hole and was awarded a golf bag.

The raffle prizes included an umbrella and signed personalised cap donated by Mel Reid, an up and coming professional golfer from Derbyshire who recently won her third Ladies European Tour victory at the Open de España Femenino, and a day of golf for two at Kedleston Park Golf Club.

Congratulations to Darren Hicks from Design Brook who was the overall winner and we won’t name and shame the winner of the booby prize who was awarded Advance branded golf balls to get practising with! The prize giving was held over a much deserved and very pleasant two-course meal.

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is the world’s leading charitable funder of type 1 diabetes research. The money raised at the Advance Charity Golf Day will go towards research into finding a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications. The foundation recognises the challenges of living with type 1 diabetes, advocates to ensure that the condition is fully understood and provides information for those families affected by the condition.

We are very excited at Advance to launch the Almari LED T8 direct replacement lamp. The lamp is a ground breaking solution which eradicates the need to remove the electromagnetic ballast. Innovative techniques have ensured that the new lamp is now 60% more energy efficient than the fluorescent T8 lamps, helping our customers to meet their carbon footprint targets.

On Thursday 7 April Advance hosted a one day refrigeration lighting workshop at Mercedes Benz World in Brooklands, Weybridge, Surrey. This was an exclusive event for 25 delegates, focused on food and drink refrigeration lighting.

Fantastic presentations were given by guest speakers Dave Tilley from Lo2, Tony Oram from Seoul Semiconductor and Graham Smith from BARO Lighting, followed by a panel discussion. Neil Partridge and Sarah Wright from Advance ran informative presentations about product launches and Advance’s bespoke services.

After lunch delegates were given the opportunity to take their turn on a Mercedes AMG simulator and to be the passenger on a thrilling driving experience, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all!

Advance received over €5million worth of enquiries at a very successful EuroShop exhibition.  There were 6 members of staff on hand to help with the enquiries at the exhibition and they were all extremely pleased with the response that they had.

On display at the stand was the Tri-Light range, including the new Ara 2 LED Lightbar, however the star of the show was the new Almari T8 direct replacement lamp.  This true ‘direct’ replacement lamp does not require any rewiring as it works with either HF or electromagnetic ballasts and can achieve an energy saving of over 60%.
